Veazey earns CHS November student of the month

​Terra Veazey, CHS senior and band member, received November student of the month by band director, Mrs. Kim Neighbors.

Veazey received student of the month as a result of her phenomenal leadership skills.  

Band director, Kim Neighbors, was not able to direct the band during the Centralia vs. Palmyra football game, so she charged Veazey with the task.  Veazey accepted the responsibility and successfully led the band.

Neighbors nominated Terra for her exceptional ability not only to direct the band that evening, but her ability to step in whenever and wherever needed.  Veazey is also a drum major in the CHS marching band. “Terra is a great leader and has been working so hard to help out. She showed great leadership in marching at games and competitions. She always helps to show great positivity,” said Neighbors.

Veazey said, “It feels nice to be recognized for my leadership and I am very grateful to be of help.” Terra plans to go to the University of Missouri to major in Biochemistry.
