By: Rylee Palmer; Contributing Writer Centralia High School, while undergoing extensive construction, requires more than just the construction workers for our school improvements. Aside from the new classrooms being built, some technological improvements are being made to the trophy and school record cases. This calls for an immense time commitment and sophomore Lane Chancellor, committed his summer to this task.
Dr. Matt Smith stated, “This was a very challenging job requiring a lot of research, cataloging historical data and a good bit of manual labor sifting through all of the trophies, plaques and composites.” The new screen can be found in the main hallway outside of the high school gymnasium. On this screen you can sift through awards of all kinds for extracurriculars from FFA and Quizbowl to Football and Track. You can also view pictures of all of the state banners displayed on our gymnasium wall. Having pictures of the awards displayed like this provides an easier way for spectators to find the award they are looking for as well with pictures to go with it. Lane Chancellor stated, “My perfectionism made it a very challenging task to complete, but it was worth it in the end. I am happy with the outcome and feel very accomplished.” Outside of working for the school, Chancellor is part of the Centralia varsity cross country team, a member of drama club, FBLA and earth club. |
