Abby Asbury, a sophomore at Centralia High School (CHS) was awarded May student of the month.
Dr. Matt Smith, CHS principal, thought Asbury did great the last month of school because of her success in FFA.
“Abby had a great last month of school in FFA. She was an instrumental part of the Ag Issues team that finished 2nd at State. At the FFA Banquet last week she received many, many awards and recognitions. She is going to be serving as a chapter officer next year and will be a great leader for the program for the next two years,” said Smith.
Asbury was an FFA chapter officer this school year and was elected to be an FFA officer for next year. Asbury’s supervised agriculture experience consists of Anglo-Nubian goat reproduction which she hopes to continue in her future years while involved in FFA. She also won an area proficiency award in agriculture mechanics for her work at the Centralia bus barn.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for something I'm passionate about. I hope to stay in FFA and continue my journey with agriculture,” said Asbury.
