October Student of the month: Natalie Calhoon

Natalie Calhoon, Freshman at Centralia High School (CHS), was announced as the October student of the month for her kindness and helpfulness to her peers.

Calhoon was nominated by Mrs. Angela Dieckmann, special education teacher at CHS.

When asked how she felt about being nominated Calhoon stated, “When Dr. Smith came in I thought he was going to talk to the teacher who was subbing. I was surprised when he came to me and talked to me instead. To be honest I thought I was in trouble. I was shocked by the news he gave me.”

Natalie was nominated for expressing her care and being helpful to a new student. “At first I met up with him every time I could and told him everything he needed to know about the school and his classes,” stated Calhoon.

Calhoon is also involved in chamber choir and the SMART program.   “It involves my business, Pawsome Pet Portraits,” Stated Calhoon in reference to her participation with the SMART program.
