By: Cameron Barnett, Contributing Writer Mrs. Anita Lumley, Centralia High School Language Arts teacher, recently introduced a new school club called, Centralia Gaming Club. The club will be playing card games, board games and roleplaying games. Some games that will be played are Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering and Monopoly.
There are currently 17 students that are part of Centralia Gaming Club. The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15pm to 4:30pm. Any student from CHS grades 9-12 is able to join. Lumley explained, “I noticed that there was a community of gamers that didn’t know each other but liked playing games. I thought that it would be awesome to start a community where students that enjoyed similar hobbies could come together and make new friends.” Senior, Cayden Mackey, explained why he joined the club. “I thought it would be a fun thing to enjoy and help grow so that they can have more opportunities as the club continues.” The club will continue to meet for the remainder of the year. Since the club is ongoing throughout the year, students will be able to incorporate Centralia Gaming Club into their athletic and academic schedule. Comments are closed.
