By: Karyssa McCubbin, Contributing Writer Incoming Centralia High School FFA students had the opportunity to try out what FFA has to offer at FFA Greenhand night. FFA Greenhand is an opportunity for incoming students and parents to see what leadership opportunities the chapter can provide.
FFA Greenhand night was held on Sept. 12, at 7:00 PM in the high school Cafeteria. There were about 12 kids that showed up who had limited knowledge of what FFA had to offer. During FFA Greenhand night, the officers and advisors answered any questions students and parents had. By the end of the night, students felt the joy of trying on and buying their first FFA official jacket. Of the 12 kids that showed up, most students said FFA Greenhand night was great. Freshman, Brody Jones, said, “ It was beneficial to everyone that showed up because it told the freshman what FFA was.” One of the FFA officers, Austin Orth, recalls his freshman Greenhand night saying,“ Greenhand night really opened my eyes to what could be done with FFA.” Comments are closed.
