By: Kylee Smith, Contributing Writer The FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) State Leadership Conference was held in person for the first time this year since 2019. The two years prior to this year's conference were held virtually. The conference was in Springfield, Missouri from April 10th to April 12th.
The University Plaza, Expo Center and Missouri State’s JQH Arena were the key locations during the conference. Students studied material to help prepare them for the conference. Centralia FBLA had two groups in the presentation events with both advancing to the finals in their competition. The Public Service Announcement Team placed 11th and the Introduction to Social Media Strategies Team placed 8th. Mr. Andrew Reynolds, CHS Business teacher and FBLA head advisor said, “I think our members did a great job this year. I’m a little disappointed that we didn’t have any qualifiers for nationals but Missouri, with the largest FBLA State Leadership Conference in the nation, is a hard state to qualify for nationals in.” The CHS FBLA chapter does social, community and educational services. This year FBLA held movie nights for the Elementary and Intermediate schools as well as game nights for FBLA members. FBLA is always willing to have feedback or ideas on how they can help the community more. Comments are closed.
