Anna Million, Centralia High School (CHS) senior, was given the opportunity to co-direct the CHS sponsored play, The Brother’s Grimm Spectaculathon, with Lacy Erbsloe, CHS Language teacher.
Million, daughter of Harvey and Stacey Million, has been involved in Drama Club all four years of her high school career. When asked to co-direct this spring’s play, Million jumped at the chance. “I have always enjoyed watching the plays progress and I admired the work Dr. Darr did. A few people asked me for help with the play this year and I thought it was super fun,” Million said.

This was not the first play Million was involved in. In the past, Million has taken part as a stage manager and has had acting roles, playing characters such as a detective, a cat and a yoga instructor. This past year, she played the lead role of Emily Webb in the play Our Town.

Million has loved to act ever since she was a kid. It has been a passion of hers and something she loves to spend her time doing. “My sister Caroline and I used to play-act with each other, and I liked being super overdramatic. Acting is something I have always wanted to do, but I think my sister was the person who really encouraged me to go for what I want,” Million said.

Million said her favorite part of directing the play was seeing the actors nail their lines and add personalized twists to their characters. The play had a great turnout, taking place on the 19, 20 and 21 of March.

Apart from Drama Club, Million is also involved in Art Club, Quizbowl, FTA, Earth Club, NHS, SKRUBS, and Beta Chi Pi. After graduating this year, she plans to go to Truman State University and study English Education.
