It is that time of year again. Mrs. Leah Rolfson, the orchestra and choir teacher is Co-leading this year's musical with Mr. Scott Long. Centralia High School will be putting on, “You’re A Good Man” by Charles M. Shultz.
The musical is about Charlie Brown and a few other characters from the popular cartoon. The musical follows the characters as they try to answer some of life’s greatest questions. Emery Mast, a Senior at CHS who plays the character Schroeder, commented on what his favorite part of the musical is. “Probably the acting itself, it’s fun to get on stage,” said Mast. Kaelyn Walters who is playing the character Sally, said that the cast is really starting to get the dances down and they are getting them memorized. Walters stated, “I love the performance we get to do for the 8th graders, because we are able to show them what the musical really is.” The week before the big production they will do a performance for the CBMS 8th graders.

Rolfson stated, “Actors rehearse two times a week from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and the chorus comes in one time a week for now.  As time goes by, we will add a day in the schedule.” Noah Kropf, a senior who plays the character Charlie Brown commented, “Practice is going well, we are just putting together the choreography and I am very excited for the big production.”  The cast have been putting a lot of time and effort into making this musical the best it can be.

Rolfson is getting her students ready for the big show on April 5-6. Rolfson would like to see a big crowd at all the performances being that the musical is appropriate and funny for all ages. Tickets will be $5 for children and students and $10 for adults. Rolfson is really looking forward to the production saying that the students have been working really hard and the musical is coming together really well.
