Centralia High School (CHS) students are performing their rendition of The Wizard of Oz on April 1 and 2.
The students performed this musical in 2012, but this year will be different as there is a new set of actors and they will make it their own.

Senior Terra Veazey says, “The best part of the play thus far is rehearsing with Mr. Long.” Mr. Scott Long, retired Chester Boren Middle School science teacher, is the musical director who works with students on their acting in the musical.  Seniors are sad this will be their last musical, but are excited to make it their best one yet.

CHS performs a musical every spring.  Together, Long and Mrs. Leah Rolfson, orchestra and music instructor at CHS, decided on the musical based on accessibility to students.  This year they had a good mix of students which allowed them to perform The Wizard of Oz.

The cast this year is amazing. Main characters consist of: Maggie Stanley playing the role of Dorothy, Terra Veazey as Glinda the Good Witch and Aunt Em, Claire Bennett as the Wicked Witch, Landon Burton as the Lion, Emory Biggs as the Scarecrow, Noah Taft as the Tinman, Josh Russel as the Wizard, and Jacob Arnold as the Guard and Uncle Henry. There are many other students participating in the musical who will have parts consisting of singing and dancing.

“People should come watch the musical because all the cast has worked so incredibly hard to make the musical the best that it can be! It's a fun experience that people of all ages would enjoy,” said senior Maggie Stanley.

Come see the musical and support the Centralia schools Music and Arts Program!
The cost of the show is $10 for Adults and $5 for Children.
