On April 20 the annual pie auction and chili supper was held in the Chester Boren Middle School gym.
Their goal was to sell as many pies as they could to raise money for the band. In total they sold 86 pies, with the highest pie being sold for $600 dollars. The Chili was also auctioned off at the end of the night.

Most of the band members were there and dressed up to help sell the pies. The pie auction was originally started as a way to raise money for the band. The fundraiser is typically organized by the Band Boosters with the help of band members and their families.

Last year's pie auction helped raise money for new band uniforms. The money raised this year went to support the band program in the purchasing of instruments, music pieces and help with trip expenses and other things of that nature.

Before the coronation the band came together to perform two songs, Circus Days, by Carl King and Among The Clouds, by Brian Balmages. These two songs were previously rehearsed and performed for the State Contest. After the performance they started the coronation of the pie auction royalty.

For the pie auction royalty, the band has representatives from all grades from sixth to twelfth that would make up the royal court. Then, from the high school candidates they will vote on the King and Queen who are typically seniors and are awarded with a crown. The king was Eli Hill and Queen Susanna Nix.

After the auction's coronation they did one final song named Legends of Devils Lake, by Michael Sweeny which was selected specifically for the pie auction.
