Abby Reed, Centralia High School senior, signed on November 18, 2021 to Moberly Area Community College (MACC) in Moberly to continue her softball career.
Friends and family of Reed were there to watch her fully commit to this journey.
Abby is the daughter of Russ and Sharon Reed and has two older sisters. Reed moved to Centralia her junior year of high school and was a great asset to the Lady Panthers softball team. Although she had an injury her junior year, she did not let that hold her back, and she came back stronger than ever.
Reed has been playing softball since kindergarten, it was like a right of passage in her family. Both her older sisters played softball, so she grew up around the sport and fell in love with it. Her love of softball never faltered and has only grown stronger the older she gets.
Abby played first base for the Panthers and says playing first base “Just comes easy to me and feels right.” Her favorite high school softball memory was receiving Queen Of The Diamond her senior year.
MACC was an easy choice for Reed, as it was close to home and it had the program she wanted to go into. Reed is planning to major in behavioral health and minor in health science. She looks forward to traveling to different states and seeing the competition.
