The Centralia High School(CHS) cross-country team has had a tremendous season thus far and has even broken school records along the way.
The cross-country team consists of:  Kenedee Moss, Lane Chancellor, Zane Deckerd, Wesley Robertson, Carter Moss, Dryst Bostick, Harrison White, J.R. Lesher, Rylee Palmer, Shelby Lewis, Eli Hill, Rohan Holiman, Shane Mitchell, Annie Robinson, Gretchen Marriott, Jozelynn Bostick, Boen Zimmerman, Dominick Lansche, Landon Moss and Michael Magnusson.

The team recently competed at Conference where the girls got 2nd place and the boys got 3rd place. This is the first time since 1996 the girls cross-country team has made it to state. Even more exciting, this is the first time in school history the boys have qualified for state as a team.

The following seven athletes also qualified to compete individually at state: JR Lesher, Carter Moss, Landon Moss, Jozelynn Bostick, Kenedee Moss, Shelby Lewis and Annie Robinson.

Aside from all the team accomplishments, personal records have been broken as well.  JR  Lesher, CHS junior on the Varsity boy's cross-country team, has beaten the school record and his own personal record. He broke the school record of 17:09. He then broke that record by running a 16:54.

CHS cross country coach, Jason Watermann, said, “The team has had an amazing season.”  He is very proud of their abilities and performances this season. Watermann also said, “Both varsity teams have had a strong showing this season. They have received multiple second and third place awards in some meets with as little as five teams and others with as many as 30 teams.”
