By: Logan Ivy, Contributing Writer Centralia High School students will be performing the play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is directed and designed by Dr. Andrew Darr and Mrs. Lacey Erbschloe. There are 22 students involved in the play with various roles.
The play will be performed on November 18th at 7PM, November 19th at 7PM and November 20th at 2 PM. Admission is ten dollars for adults and five dollars for students. When Erbschloe was questioned about what inspired her to choose A Midsummer Night’s Dream (MND) as this year’s fall play, she stated, “Dr. Darr approached me with two options, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Romeo and Juilet and asked me which one we should produce. I had suggested MND because the other play is a common play all schools complete, and I felt like we should challenge ourselves to produce MND.” Another question that was asked was how much time and preparation goes into each play? Darr said, “We started pre-production in midsummer last spring, auditioned in late April of this year, workshopped over the summer, and have put in three hours a week since school started in August. We have put in a large amount of time to be certain.” “Audiences can expect a lot of magic, humor, and fun love stories. We’ve been working hard to make sure our first Shakespeare play will knock your socks off. I think it’s gonna be great,” said Faith Decker, stage manager. Comments are closed.
