By: Brandon Chick Contributing Writer Centralia High School performed two plays on March 18, 19 and 20. The plays are considered one-acts and were, 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse, directed by Dr. Andrew Darr, CHS language arts teacher, and Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, directed by CHS Senior Anna Million and Mrs. Lacey Erbschloe, CHS language arts teacher.
Drama Club has been a part of CHS for over 10 years and was created by Kortney Sebben, a former CHS language arts teacher. Darr has since filled Sebben’s role as the Head Drama Club Sponsor. He chose his play because his Dramatics class really enjoyed it. Darr’s love for drama started when he acted in his first play in middle school. Erbschloe and Million wanted to go a different route and produce a fairytale comedy which led to their choice of Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. This is Erbschloe’s first year in the district and her first experience working with students to perform a play. Erbschloe said, “I have really enjoyed meeting and working with the students I do not have in my classes.” She also says she enjoyed getting to know them and watching them interact with each other. 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse had a cast of 10 people. The narrators are: Davey Kennington and Fox Morris. The survivors are: Brandon Chick, Jeremy Rish, Madie Scheeler, Tess Stephens. The zombies consist of: Emily Kribs, Noah Kropf, Faith Mills, and Bethany Raps. The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon had a cast consisting of: Julia Baxter, Breanna Dollens, Laura Dollens, Eli Hill, Cayden Mackey, Madi Moore, Susanna Nix, Laila Payne, Taylor Perez, Kamryn Sanderson, Ava Stephens, Terra Veazey and Caitlin Ward.
