By: Caitlin Ward, Contributing Writer Mr. Bryan Green, a special education teacher at Centralia Intermediate School (CIS), is retiring after 28 years of teaching. Throughout his career, he taught 3rd grade for 23 years and 4th grade for two years in Mexico. He has spent his last three years in special education at CIS.
Green’s favorite memory from teaching was during his first year of teaching in Mexico. He said, “I dressed up as a clown for Halloween. My principal had an entire costume for it. The reason she suggested a clown was that I was a very good juggler.” Things Green looks forward to are sleeping in, spending more time with family, painting and building models. Green also likes to spend time with his three dogs and play online games with people from around the world. Although there are many things to look forward to in retirement, there are a few things that he will miss most about teaching. “I will miss working with the kids and seeing the progress that they make over the year. I will miss talking with and joking around with the students,” stated Green. Comments are closed.
