Lancaster awarded CHS January Arrangement of the Month

Mr. Joshua Lancaster received the Centralia High School Arrangement of the Month for what Dr. Matt Smith, CHS principal, calls, “being a Swiss Army Knife” and says Lancaster is a “jack of all trades.”.

 Lancaster teaches multiple courses at the high school, including college level courses.  Not only does Lancaster teach, he also coaches multiple sports and drives the bus for the volleyball team.  Lancaster has been in education for 18 years and has been working at CHS for four years.

Lancaster received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also has two Master’s degrees; one from William Woods University and the other one from Northwest Missouri State University.

What Lancaster likes most about working in Centralia is the, “smaller school setting, the community pride and values for a place like Centralia and what it represents.”  

Lancaster also enjoys the staff at CHS. “I work with some great teachers who want what is best for the students,” said Lancaster. 

When Lancaster started college, he did not know exactly what he wanted to do, but he knew he had an interest in history. He was trying to narrow it down when his grandmother told him he would be a great history teacher.  He changed his major and the rest is history.

During his free time, Lancaster likes to watch movies and shows with his wife and play games and activities with his daughters. Lancaster also likes to play golf, hang out with friends and play games.
