Dr. Matt Smith, Centralia High School (CHS) principal, awarded Mrs. Audrey Smith with the December arrangement of the month.
“Mrs. Smith is highly committed to all of her students. She keeps very detailed notes and records of how each student is doing in all their classes and is always supporting them in staying on top of their work. She also develops great relationships with parents and her expertise in Special Education paperwork and processes is a tremendous asset to students and parents as students transition from high school to post secondary education or vocation,” said Dr. Smith.
Mrs. Smith has been teaching for 23 years, with her first 13 years in elementary education. Mrs. Smith has taught at CHS for 10 years as a special education teacher. Mrs. Smith also oversees the Centralia Future Teachers of America (FTA) club. “I enjoy helping students learn new information and apply it to coursework and real world situations. I also enjoy sitting in the regular education classrooms. I always learn something new from our amazing teachers,” said Smith
Mrs. Smith was honored to receive the arrangement of the month. “I work with an incredibly talented staff at CHS. I hope I can be supportive to my fellow teachers and help students work to the best of their ability,” said Mrs. Smith.
