Creating memories worth remembering

To celebrate a successful school year, Centralia High School orchestra and choir students, accompanied by music teacher Mrs. Rolfson took a five day trip to Branson, Missouri from April 17 to April 21.
This trip was a chance for students to relax, have fun and enjoy time together after months of hard work and dedication to their music programs. It was a great way for them to bond as a group and enjoy a well-deserved break from schoolwork and rehearsals. The trip included going to Talking Rocks Cave, putt putt golf, shopping, Sight and Sound Theater and Silver Dollar City.

The students loved going to the show David at the Sight and Sound theater on April 18. “David at Sight and Sound was the coolest I have ever seen. They had real animals and we got to meet the cast," said senior Hailey Ludwig. The Sight and Sound theater has shows that are stories from the bible using live animals from birds to camels or horses. Kendal Crosby, a sophomore was asked what was the best part of the trip and her response was, “Going to watch David as well as the time spent at the house.”

Another place students visited on this trip was Silver Dollar City. This was the perfect place to have a bunch of giggles and even more food. “I want to remember the Silver Dollar City. I just wish I brought different shoes,” said senior Ian Tuggle. The weather forecast predicted rain all day, but they still went to the theme park and had a great time. Ludwig said, “I want to always remember making fun of Mrs. Rolfson for trying to use a paper map rather than her phone to get us places.” The new experience and old fashioned ways created memories that will last far beyond the school year.

After a long year of concerts and musicals as well as long nights singing or performing, a relaxing trip is just what this group needed. Rolfson rented the Airbnb house with a hot tub and a pool table. This was the first year she took her group to Branson.  Previously Rolfson would take the group to a place in Texas, but wanted to do something new this time around. “This was the best group out of all my years. There was no one complaining, everyone was happy,” said Rolfson.
